Professor Johannes DeYoung Earns Curator’s Choice at 2024 Digital Graffiti Festival, and More

DeYoung exhibited his work at two premier digital art festivals in Florida this summer, the Digital Graffiti Festival in Alys Beach and the Chroma Art Film Festival in Miami.


Digital Graffiti Festival

Professor Johannes DeYoung received the Curator’s Choice Award at this summer’s 17th Annual Digital Graffiti Festival, held from May 16-18, 2024, in Alys Beach, Florida. The festival, known for its unique transformation of the town’s iconic white stucco architecture into canvases for digital art, featured 57 finalists from around the world. DeYoung’s work, “The Endless Mile,” earned the award from among entries from 16 countries and 19 U.S. states.

Chroma Art Film Festival

DeYoung also exhibited at the Chroma Art Film Festival, held August 17-18, 2024. Presented by Rainbow Oasis and Superblue Miami at Superblue’s Allapattah venue, the festival showcased immersive experiences, installations, and storytelling as a platform for dialogue and discovery, highlighting artistic diversity and its impact on social change. Rainbow Oasis is a non-profit organization that supports artists through innovative residency programs, while Superblue Miami offers 50,000 square feet of immersive art experiences and a year-round program of events.
